Honeycrisp 'Royal Red' Apple Tree
Malus x domestica
Fruit is aromatic and sweet as honey with an explosively juicy, crisp texture.
The fruit is colored bright red with random yellow marks near the stem. This Honeycrisp apple is juicier than most other apples, due to its ultra inflated, thin cell walls that when bitten will flood the mouth with streams of sweet-tart juice. This apple is a popular store apple because of the long shelf life.
- Apple trees require a pollinator to be fruitful. That means there needs to be another apple tree of a different variety — ideally growing within 50 feet of the Honeycrisp tree — for adequate cross-pollination.
