• Appearance: A large, bright pink, star-shaped inflorescence (flower head) emerges from the center of the leaf rosette. Small, vibrant purple or blue flowers grow out from these showy pink bracts (modified leaves).
• Timing: The plant typically matures and flowers when it is around 3 to 5 years old.
• Lifespan: The colorful pink bracts last for several months, while the individual purple flowers last for a shorter time.
• After Blooming: The mother plant slowly dies after it finishes flowering. However, it produces small offshoots (called "pups") at the base that you can grow into new plants.
