Freezing Fresh Strawberries The best way to keep strawberries for the winter or out of season, is to freeze them!  And it is easy!  All you need are the chopped strawberries, sugar, lemon juice, and Ziplock freezer bags. Blossom End Rot is a physiological disorder of tomatoes (and other vegetables) where the tissue of the blossom end of the fruit (the part of the fruit opposite the stem) breaks down and rots, thus reducing yield.
