Lavandula 'Vera' Lavender
Also called True Lavender or Fine Lavender.
Narrow, gray-green leaves (to 2 1/2” long) on square stems. Dark Lavender-blue flowers appear in terminal spikes in late spring to early summer. Both foliage and flowers are highly aromatic. Remove faded flowers to promote continued bloom. It is thought to be the best Lavender for medicinal and aromatherapy purposes. Lavender are sun-loving plants that thrive in hot weather and grow best in arid climates. Vera when grown in cold (zone 5-6) winter climates tend to be more compact. Lavender plants require two-to-three growing seasons to reach mature size.
