Large, firm blue fruit in early to mid-season. Vigorous growth and high-yield; bears fruit earlier than 'Bluecrop'. Burgundy foliage in fall, deep red stems in winter. Flowers provide nectar for pollinators and branches provide shelter and nesting sites for birds. Works well as a border or hedge plant. Semi-evergreen.
Introduced in 1941. Cold-hardy. Ripens in July. Self-pollinating.
Self-pollinating, but will yield larger crops if pollinated with Bluecrop.
