Redbud Tree
Cercis canadensis
Beautiful garden tree valued for its timing; petite purple-red flowers on bare branches bridge the gap between winter and spring! A moderate to slow growing small tree that reaches heights of 20 to 30 feet and spreads 25 to 35 feet. Lavender-pink blossoms appear along the branches in early spring before dark green heart-shaped leaves appear. New foliage has soft-pink tint, maturing to rich green. Deciduous. Ideal for tight places or small lots. Grows in a variety of soils and climates. Very resistant to storm, ice and wind damage.
