Bailey's Red-osier Dogwood
Cornus sericea
Winter Interest. Clusters of small white flowers are followed by porcelain-blue berries that attracts birds. Lush green foliage turns reddish-purple in fall. Seasonal pruning promotes new branching with distinctive red color. An exceptional single specimen or informal hedge in a woodland setting.
Upright, bright red twigs in winter glow against the snow or black earth in sun, and on cloudy days too. Ideal as a single plant in a smaller garden, or mass-planted in a larger one. Grow as a backdrop to beds, around your home, as an informal hedge.
