'Candy Mountain Rose' Foxglove
Digitalis purpurea
Attracts Hummingbirds.
Upward facing, bright rose-pink flowers with interesting speckled throats. Strong stemmed plants make for amazing cut flowers and are loved by hummingbirds.
Great for hummingbirds, songbirds, and butterflies. Blooms early summer. Biennial but often reseeds. Deer and Rabbit resistant.
Deer resistant and able to handle part-shade, foxglove makes great edging plants along with woodland areas where they may naturalize. Best known as a popular bouquet flower and for its ability to attract hummingbirds.
Deadhead first-year blooms by trimming back the spent flower stems to the base of the plant, to encourage overwintering and the second year of blooms.
