Deep green rinds with bright red interior. Sugar Baby has the sweetness and fine eating quality of large, long-season types and its small size makes it easy to refrigerate. Harvest when the tendril nearest the fruit begins to turn brown and melons sound hollow when you knock on the rind. Use black plastic mulch to hasten maturity.
