Colosasia Polar Green
This is the first-ever colocasia that is hardy to Zone 5. ‘Polargreen’ features medium green leaves with pink stems. Its mature height is 3 to 5 feet and hardiness Zones 5-11. This elephant ear does not produce a bulb. Morning sun / Afternoon Shade.
- Growing instructions: Plant in full sun to part shade in soil that has been amended with compost or other organic matter. Keep the plant consistently moist. Plants produce prodigious growth and benefit from regular fertilization. In El Dorado, the plant can be planted in the ground in mid-spring after the last frost date (in St. Louis, April 15). Apply a 4-6″ layer of mulch after first fall frost. Protect potted plants from extreme cold of winter.
