Cactus Notocactus / magnificus
DESCRIPTION
The Notocactus magnificus, also known as the Balloon cactus, is an eye-catching addition to any arid or fire-resistant garden. Its wool-covered blue-green sphere is characterized by golden spines that grow along the vertical ribs. Over time, it forms sizeable clustering mounds and blooms with bright lemon yellow flowers in the summer. Recently, the genus Notocactus has been reclassified as Parodia, as they share similar characteristics. It is recommended to water with caution during the winter months to avoid root loss from prolonged cold and damp soil.
