D'Anjou means butter in French. Large, richly flavored fruit is thin-skinned, sweet and tender. Excellent eaten fresh or for canning. Easy to grow and adapts to most conditions. Recommended chill: 800 hours. Deciduous. D'Anjou Pear Trees are not self-fertile. You will need to plant another variety to achieve fruiting (recommended Barlett Pear Tree). Experts recommend planting one within 50' for optimum pollination.
