Althea is a deciduous, ornamental shrub, more commonly referred to as the Rose of Sharon. It is often used for group or border planting. This althea produces beautiful white blooms in the summer. The shrub exhibits a slow-to-moderate growth rate and reaches a height of about 5-8 feet and a spread of about 5 feet. When planting, look for a full sun area with moist, well-drained soil.
