Trichocereus grandiflorus “Torch Cactus” hybrid
DESCRIPTION
The Torch Cactus hybrid, Trichocereus grandiflorus, comes in a wide range of stunning colors including yellow, gold, white, pink, light pink with rose midstripes, orange, red, and purples. Some flowers even boast a beautiful bi-colored pattern. Not only that, but the size of the flowers has also increased to a remarkable 9 inches in diameter, putting them on par with the Epiphyllums and orchid cacti. With its hybridization, the appearance of the plant has also undergone changes. The stems of the original species were slender, but now many newer hybrids have thick, cylindrical bodies up to 10 inches in diameter, with offsets that can span several feet. This creates an impressive display when the large, vibrant flowers open on each stem. For optimal growth, make sure to use porous cactus soil with good drainage and provide bright light. Water only when the soil is completely dry to the touch, and protect from
