Planting & Harvesting
Seed Depth: 1″ (3cm)
Spacing: 6″ (15cm)
Sprouts In: 14-21 days
Thinning: 12″ (30cm)
Select a warm location with full sun and well-drained soil amended with compost. Soak seeds in water overnight prior to planting to encourage germination. Sow in late spring or early summer after soil has warmed completely. Seeds will not germinate well in cool soil. Water consistently, but don’t let soil get soggy.
Best suited for planting zones 9 and higher as it prefers warm, humid climates. Will perform as an annual in non-tropical climates. Save seed pods to sow each year. Uncooked seeds are poisonous.
