Okra, Clemson Spineless-Organic

Item 4061

Abelmoschus esculentus

Clemson’s slender, pointed, spineless pods are used in soups, stews, and for pickling. Very productive in areas with hot summer weather. Plants are 4-6′ tall, with attractive, mimosa-like blossoms that form the pods.

Planting & Harvesting

Seed Depth: 1/2″ (13mm)

Plant Space: 18″ (46cm)

Row Space: 36″ (91cm)

Sprouts In: 8-10 days

Start indoors three weeks before last frost date, or outdoors after soil has completely warmed. Okra thrives in hot weather and fertile soil, with consistent light watering. Do not over water.

Pick okra every two to three days when pods reach about two to four inches long. Older pods get tough and stringy.
