Thyme 'Winter'

Thymus vulgaris

Aromatic leaves season meats, poultry, stews, sauces, soups, and dressings.

Oval, grey-green, aromatic leaves grow on upright, shrubby, 8 to 12" plants. Thyme is used fresh or dried to flavor meats and vegetables. Adds elegance to mixed beds or pots when allowed to trail over the edges.

Thyme oil is disinfecting, and can also help skin conditions like eczema. Tea from dry leaves helps a cough. It’s a companion plant and deters cabbage root-fly from cabbages, cauliflower, and brussels sprouts. The flowers also attract many beneficial insects to the garden.

• Plant thyme in your herb garden, at the edge of a walk, as a special garden treat.

  • Height: 12-15"
