This large dark purple heirloom tomato is rumored to have come from the Cherokee tribe.
This consistently ranks very high in taste tests. Slice Cherokee Purple tomato for rich, dark color and unmatched sweet, rich taste on sandwiches or in salads. The tomato is a beautiful dusky pink with a deep, rich-red interior. The flesh is brick-red and very attractive sliced on a plate. Plants produce large vines that yield tomatoes fully 5" across and 3½" deep. Produce all summer. Soil: constantly moist/mulch
Indeterminate tomatoes will keep growing and will produce fruit until they are killed by frost in the fall. This type of tomatoes will bloom, set new fruit and ripen fruit throughout the entire growing season so you will have a longer time to harvest.
