Herb 'Spearmint' Mint
Mentha spicata
Spearmint (aka Garden Mint) is the most popular flavor used in tea.
Also used for flavoring ice cream, confectionery, chewing gum, and tooth-paste. They bloom from July through August, sprouting tiny purple flowers in whorls and terminal spikes. Dark green, fragrant leaves grow opposite white flowers. Commonly thought to use for nausea, indigestion, treat headaches, etc... Aromatherapy. Herb tea. Crush fresh leaves into water for a refreshing beverage, or add to tea or coffee. Attracts Hummingbird and Butterflies.
Mint is best contained. It sometimes will take over your garden.
